As Spring arrives, it brings nice weather and brighter days, but it also brings threats of terrible weather. Unfortunately, the town of Nevada experienced this on April 5, 2025.
Early Wednesday morning, storms were raging through Kansas and Missouri. While a few small tornadoes touched down here and there, an EF-1 tornado ripped through Nevada, causing damage to houses, businesses, and much more. One citizen of Nevada, as reported by KOAM News, was left with her family business destroyed, as well as her new home that she planned to move into only one day after. Additionally, many power lines were taken out, leaving over 1,000 Missouri residents without electricity. As efforts to help the people of the community continue, the road to recovery is still just beginning.
