FSHS’s Halo ESports team is underway. Every Thursday they play a random Esports team from one of the many schools across the USA. For years, they have placed in the top sixteen teams in the nation. ESports may not seem like a sport to many; but for some, it’s a way to not only expand their skills and knowledge, but a place to find people with similar interests as them. When asked, Coach Glades, the sponsor of E-Sports, asserted that “Halo was one of the flagship teams that finished in the playoffs for years.” He continued by explaining how “3 years ago they placed 8th in the nation and were even streamed by HSEL”, the High School E-Sports League itself. He explained how later on, he would like to possibly have enough teams to hold skirmishes in the school; although, he is nervous about the future as smaller teams for Halo are becoming an issue. There are more games other than just Halo in ESports with several more teams and the possibility to do more if more students join the Esports team.
