Students, along with some staff, crowded into AP History teacher Mrs. Jackman’s classroom for a demonstration by Justice Standridge of the Kansas supreme court. The demonstration was a time for students to ask questions and learn about the Kansas state judicial process.
Justice Standridge explained her role in our state government and shared stories of the laws she has interpreted during her time in office. Many students enjoyed the engaging conversation. According to Bronson Eli Smith, “I’m so glad we have such an unbiased justice on our supreme court. She seems like she has the best interest of us Kansans in mind.” Students enjoyed the demonstration and seemed to learn a great deal about our state government.
