Although some may consider Negative XP a controversial figure, I absolutely love the sound that all of his music has. This EP has very little in terms of refinement, which makes it very fun to listen to without being overproduced. The only con that I have about this EP is that it only has five songs: however, there are more volumes in the Mkultra Support Group Series with a similar feel.
- Scott Pilgrim vs. the World Ruined a Whole Generation of Women
This song is definitely where Negative XP gains his more controversial reputation; however, even if you disagree with the premise of the song, it has an undeniably great sound. I give this song a 8/10, I highly recommend it.
- Left On Read
Once again, an awesome-sounding track with kind of sad and angry lyrics. Not for everyone, but I really like this song. I give this song a 6.5/10; it’s good but there are better songs from Negative XP.
- Disgusted With Myself
A really short song, only about 40 seconds long, but during that time it is another great example of his style of lyric.
- Mkultra Victim
This song is my personal favorite of the whole EP, not too offensive in the lyric department, and not too edgy in the instrumental; it is very close to perfect in my opinion, 9.5/10.
- A Punk Song
Another short song, but that isn’t bad in my opinion. It is very good at what it does, and sounds angry and upset with some lyrics that are definitely not for everyone. A solid pick, 7/10.
I seriously recommend this EP. I love its imperfections and flaws, they add to the overall theme of the album and feel of each song. I hope this made you check out his EP and the rest of his work.
