The deadline for the National Honor Society applications is fast approaching. Juniors and seniors all across the school are preparing to submit their applications. The National Honor Society is one of the oldest, largest, and most widely recognized student organizations in American high schools. The National Honor Society was founded in 1921 and was based on the four pillars of scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
Every year our school’s chapter accepts applications from upperclassmen. Being a member of the NHS is an impressive element to add to your college applications. Being a member means you have achieved great academic, leadership, and service accomplishments.
Are you an underclassman seeking to join the NHS in the future? A good place to start is to keep your grades above a 3.5 GPA and keep track of all your accomplishments. Some things that are viewed as impressive on an application such as this are being involved in your community with community service, demonstrating strong leadership by receiving leadership positions, and having strong academic achievement in all areas.
So, if you plan on becoming a member of the NHS, be sure to keep track of all your achievements throughout the coming years.
