The 67th annual 2025 Grammy Nominations are officially announced. The Grammy Awards ceremony will honor only the best of music from September 16, 2023 to August 30, 2024. The Grammys will premiere on February 2, 2025.
For the album of the year, we’re starting strong with “Cowboy Carter” by Beyonce, released on March 29, 2024, under the genre of country, with songs like “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM”, “ALLIGATOR TEARS”, and more. The second nominee is Andre 3000’s “New Blue Sun”, which was released earlier in 2023 on November 17. This was his debut album under the genres of ambient music, new-age music, and spiritual jazz. The next nomination goes to “Djesse Vol. 4” by Jacob Collier. Released on February 29, 2024, this album is under the genre of jazz, with songs like “Mi Corazon” featuring Camilo and “Little Blue” featuring Brandi Carlile. The infamous album “Short n’ Sweet” by Sabrina Carpenter is also up as a choice. Released earlier this year under the pop category on August 23, the album includes songs like “Juno”, “Bed Chem”, “Taste”, and many others. Alongside all the other nominations is Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department” released on April 19 of this year, this synth and folk-pop album includes songs such as “Fortnight”, “So Long, London”, and “Guilty as Sin?”. With another nomination under her belt for best new artist, Chappell Roan’s “The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess” is another option. Releasing her debut album earlier in 2023 on September 22, this pop album includes “HOT TO GO!”, “Red Wine Supernova”, and “Pink Pony Club”. “Brat” by Charli XCX is also up as another choice, released on June 7 of this year and creating the phenomenon known as ‘Brat Summer’, this hyper-pop collection includes songs like “360” and “Apple”. Finally, the last nomination is for Billie Eilish’s “Hit Me Hard and Soft”. With this bedroom pop album released earlier in 2024 on May 17, it includes “LUNCH”, “BIRDS OF A FEATHER”, “BLUE”, and “WILDFLOWER”.
