As fall sports wind down, teams begin to reflect on their season and come together to celebrate it and their achievements. On Monday, November 18th, the Fort Scott Tigers’ soccer team had their banquet to do just that. The team had a large number of people join this year, with a total of 28 players. While they worked hard all season, it did not end as hoped, but they still enjoyed the time spent on the field, as well as with each other.
While at the banquet, a lot of recognition was given out to the players. Additionally, awards were given out for both JV and Varsity teams. These awards were chosen by the players’ teammates. Awards for the Varsity team were as follows:
- Player of the Year-Nate Mintz
- Most Improved-Jacob Eisenbrandt
- Best Teammate-Joseph Joyce and Owen Larsen
- Best Defender-Bryson Bassett
- Heart and Hustle-Tekoah Russell and Mason Mumbower
- Best Offensive Player-Kaydan Russell
- Most Skilled Player-Malachi Larsen
- Hardest Worker-Daxton Wyatt and Cash Rygmyr-Rose
- Best Leader-Brodie Wright
- Team MVP-Claire McElroy
Additionally, junior Nate Mintz received 1st Team All-SEK recognition, and junior Claire McElroy received 2nd Team All-SEK. Congratulations to the soccer team on their season!
