I remember being in elementary school and waiting for the orchestra to tour and visit St. Mary’s Catholic School, not only because it got us out of school for about 45 minutes, but also because they were great at playing. When I went to Eugene Ware this morning, Dec. 13th, I was glad that the kids were still excited by the orchestra visiting. I could feel the holiday spirit being channeled through every performer. They played a variety of Christmas classics and introduced themselves to the audience. “We are providing the community with musical entertainment. We’re spreading holiday cheer,” said Violinist Stewart Davenport. The FSHS Orchestra toured several establishments in our community. The orchestra is an important part of our community, and we should continue to support them.
