With the freezing weather and icy roads, many inexperienced drivers, and even experienced drivers, experience “ice skidding”. According to Plymouth Rock, Ice skidding accounts for 24% of all car accidents where 1,300 people are killed and more than 116,800 people are injured in vehicle crashes. However, you can prevent ice skidding with just a little more skill and knowledge. First off, driving slow can help prevent ice skidding from even beginning, but if you do find yourself sliding you need to not panic. Secondly, it may seem obvious but don’t slam on the brakes. Finally, avoid quick, jerky actions. What you should do is lightly push down on the brakes and turn the wheel in the direction that the back of your car is going.
